Project Interfaith

Beth Katz is the Founder and Executive Director of Project Interfaith (www.projectinterfaith.org). Her passion for creating a world where people of all faiths, beliefs, and cultures are valued and included led her to come back to her hometown of Omaha after graduate school to start Project Interfaith in 2005. In her role at Project Interfaith, Beth frequently presents on Project Interfaith’s mission and work at international, national and local events including at the 2013 KAIICID Global Forum, the 2013 President's Interfaith and Community Service Campus Challenge National Gathering, the 2009 Istanbul Forum of the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations, and at the 2009 Parliament of the World’s Religions. She was a 2011 fellow of the Ariane de Rothschild Fellowship for Social Entrepreneurship. Beth also serves as an adjunct professor at the University of Nebraska at Omaha where she has developed and taught courses on international conflict resolution for the Political Science department and on religious diversity in the schools for the College of Education. In 2012, she was the recipient of the President's Martin Luther King, Jr. Legacy Award from Creighton University and was named one of the Ten Outstanding Young Omahans (TOYO) by the Omaha Jaycees. Beth holds a Master of Public Policy and a Master of Social Work from the University of Michigan as well as a Bachelor of Science in Education from Creighton University. Under her leadership, Project Interfaith's work has been recognized by many esteemed institutions including the UN Alliance of Civilizations; the White House; the U.S. State Department; Georgetown University's Berkley Center for Religion, Peace and World Affairs; the Aspen Institute; and Harvard University's Pluralism Project, which has called Project Interfaith's work "among the most innovative in the country."
