Head of Production at SoulPancake
Two things happened on September 4th, 1987. There was an earthquake, and Bayan was born. The events may or may not be related.
Bayan is the Head of Production at SoulPancake, a production company that seeks to explore the human experience through creative, thought-provoking content that opens your heart. At SoulPancake, he oversees all production and post-production work, establishes workflow processes and systems, implements technology and equipment upgrades, and manages a staff of filmmakers, editors, and interns as well as directing, shooting, and editing content. Prior to working with SoulPancake, Bayan was a filmmaker with Jay-Z's new media enterprise, Life + Times, out of New York, as well as a media strategist for the Brookings Institute in Washington, D.C., where he helped restructure the organization's online content workflow. CEO & Exec Producer at SoulPancake
I wear a lot of hats at SoulPancake. Sometimes I'm CEO. Sometimes I'm Executive Producer. Sometimes I'm dance party instigator. We produce daily video content for YouTube (Kid President!), create awesomeness for TV, and can sell any brand in a fun, uplifting way. Basically, our content will help you open your heart without feeling like an idiot. And I'm pretty damn proud of that. I was a journalist for a long time (translation: I like a good story). In fact, you can probably blame deforestation on my severe magazine subscription addiction (hey, that rhymed!).
