Hailing from Compton California, Kendrick Lamar has revitalized the West Coast rap scene and the hip-hop game. Making his start in 2003, K.Dot released a string of mixtapes and two acclaimed independent albums, 2010's Overly Dedicated and 2011's Section.80. The turning point of his career came when the MC inked with Aftermath's legendary Dr. Dre to release his 2012 album, "good kid, m.A.A.d. city," which many have already labeled a classic.
