Beyond Spotify and Pandora, a new group of digital music companies are emerging. These companies are bringing together artists, content carriers and labels to create new user experiences, business models and opportunities that are desirable for all components of the industry, including the artist. How are these tech companies trying to change the current industry model? Why do we need more collaboration between artists, content carriers and music technologists?

Mike McGuire is a research vice president for Gartner, Inc.’s Media Industry Advisory Services team. Mr. McGuire covers the online content business focusing on how music, movie and TV/video are extending their distribution strategies to the Internet. He has a particular interest in understanding the value of social media and social networks on existing media companies.
As VP of programming at BAMM.tv, Lang oversees all original programming and artist relations for performance videos and music culture programming. He's been with the company since the inception and is looking to scout new acts as well as meet with representatives from new media platforms while at SXSW. BAMM.tv owns a global, perpetual license to all content in their deep indie library, 30 percent of which is Spanish speaking.
