SXSW Comedy: The Creek and The Cave Presents
The Creek and The Cave has turned Long Island City into one of New York’s top comedy destinations. With a roster of regular performers that includes many former (and future) New York’s Funniest Stand Up competition winners and Just for Laughs New Faces, the club has quickly become one of the city’s best bets for discovering new talent.
With Nate Bargatze, Emily Heller, Mark Normand, Eddie Pepitone, Andrew Short, Nick Turner
Andrew Short is a boyish-looking man confused by the world he lives in. Through a cheerfully misanthropic worldview, he hammers thunderously on pop culture, suburbia, and self-righteous soccer moms. Andrew affably deconstructs personal and public problems, managing to be convincing without being preachy. Part rant, part playful, he’s quick talking, quick-witted, and quick with the jabs at both society and himself. Andrew has been featured on Sirius XM radio, and has performed at the Cincinnati Brew Ha Ha, the Aspen Rooftop Comedy Festival and San Francisco Sketch Fest.
Nick Turner made his television debut performing stand up on "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon." He is also a cast member on VH1's recently rebooted "Best Week Ever." Nick has performed at the Montreal Comedy Festival as a "New Face," earning a spot on the "Best of Fest" showcase as well as at SXSW, The New York Comedy Fest, Bridgetown, and The Eugene Mirman Comedy Festival. He has also appeared in videos for College Humor, Funny or Die, My Damn Channel and Comedy Central.
