Listen to Glory Glory Hallelujah

About:
The Stapletones are an outstanding group of musicians from church & secular groups who combine to make rootsy, uplifting Gospel collaboration of revival singing, blues playing & spiritual musicianship… the kind that makes Baptists dance, and makes Catholics swear they’ve walked the aisles! Focused on the roots of Gospel music that inspired MLK take a stand & suffer, and that moved an entire country during the 1950’s Civil Rights campaigns. We call it “kick-butt Gospel” cause it gives folks a liftin’ and the devil a kickin’!

Biography:
this group was brought together by Greg Adkins (Exec. Dir. of the Gospel According to Austin Project) after hearing Ange Kogutz' gifted voice at a local Church, then hearing the Peterson Brothers playing their sweet Blues, then talking to Momma Peterson & Papa Peterson who thought this would be a GREAT way to meld each of the members love for this foundational roots music, their gifts, faith, and a desire to lift people up via Music. Michael Hale (Afrofreaque) plays drums with the Peterson Brothers and was all over this project, and Dane Farnsworth (who had recently moved to Austin from Maine to join Mingo Fishtrap) was invited and jumped in adding excellent KB/B3. Heather Dillard is another church vocalist who joined to add those sweet yet powerful harmonies. Ange is also a lead singer w/ Matchmaker, a local Soul/Motown group.

Description:
A sweet sounding, soul soothing roots Gospel group that harkens back to the days when Mavis, Pops & Cleo sang those old Gospel songs with great verve & impecable harmonies. With beautiful backing by the prodigious bluesy Peterson Brothers (ages 15 & 13) and two of Austin's finest voices from the local churches, this group will rock you, whilst honoring the real Rock of Ages.

Band Interests:
The Stapeltones play monthly at Gospel Brunches at Threadgills & Maria's TacoXpress... and are ready to begin sharing their music outside of Austin at selective private engagements, and music venues on a non-touring basis. Several of the group have full-time jobs, 2 are mothers... and the Peterson Brothers are still in HS.
