Ken Abdo is Chair of Lommen Abdo Law Firm’s Entertainment Law Department which has served as legal counsel to music, film, TV, theatre, literary publishing and media artists for over 27 years. Firm clients include multiple GRAMMY award recipients, gold and platinum recording artists, as well as Oscar, Emmy, Peabody and Spirit award winners. Ken’s focus is on music law and business over all media platforms. Following earlier years as a musician and entertainer, his legal career has been recognized for successful work with developing artists, legacy artists, and music artist estates. His commitment to artist advocacy and the legal profession have led him to national leadership positions with The Recording Academy, The American Bar Association among other organizations.

Robert Meitus chairs Meitus Gelbert Rose LLP’s Entertainment & Media Law practice and serves as counsel for a wide range of clients including recording artists, record labels, filmmakers, authors and creative business clients in a range of industries such as print and broadcast media, fashion and other areas. His practice largely involves negotiation of agreements, work with intellectual property protection, clearance and licensing and generally serving as business/legal counsel. The firm’s clients have included a diverse array of talent such as The Alan Parsons Project, Sufjan Stevens’ Asthmatic Kitty Records, Cage the Elephant, the Wes Montgomery and Chris Whitley estates, Foxygen, Trixie Whitley and Ron Artest, as well as institutions such as the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, Emmis Broadcasting and the NCAA. Meitus is an adjunct professor of law at the Indiana University’s Maurer School of Law, teaching Entertainment Law and a music law clinical course. Meitus received his J.D. from Indiana University School of Law, his masters of international affairs from Columbia University, and his B.A. from Wabash College. He also performs in his band Blue Sky Back and lives in Bloomington, IN, with his singer-songwriter wife, Carrie Newcomer, whom he also manages.

He is an adjunct professor at the University of Texas School of Law and the University of Texas Butler School of Music. His clients include Los Lonely Boys, Chamillionaire, Eric Johnson, the Gourds, Bluewater Music Corporation and Playing in Traffic Records, among others. He is a member of the Entertainment and Sports Law Section of the Texas State Bar Association and the California and Tennessee State Bar Associations. He is a member of the planning committee and often participates as a panelist for the Entertainment Law Institute sponsored by the Texas State Bar Association.
