This presentation will focus on cutting edge developments in the digital music licensing arena, including a deep dive into trends related to licenses with record companies for digital services, recent changes in U.S. publishing licensing structures, and developments in the international licensing space. The presentation will focus on various business models, including subscription services, ad-supported services, lockers, games/apps and hard bundled offers. The focus will be on educating the audience as to key issues to consider when seeking licenses for new products and service offerings, as well as an identification of the pitfalls and perils that should be avoided.

Chris Castle is Managing Partner of Christian L. Castle, Attorneys based in Austin, Texas. Founded in 2004, the four lawyer firm represents a variety of clients in music, motion pictures and television, as well as technology companies and video game publishers. Chris also consults leading organizations on public policy matters relating to copyright, artist rights and the Internet, and is admitted in California and Texas.
