Raising Startup Capital

#sxsw #newcapital

RSVP Required - One of the most critical issues facing entrepreneurs is deciding if and when it makes sense to raise outside capital. In today's entrepreneurial environment, there are many funding options and competitive pressures to grow rapidly. Access to capital cannot only help accelerate product development and sales, but in many cases, partnering with the right investors can influence the trajectory of a business.

In this workshop, we'll learn how an initial round of investment is priced and negotiated, and the implications on value retention and control for founders. We'll also take a longer term perspective by examining how a seed round can influence the future "fund-ability" of a startup, and alternatives in how startups can best deploy their new-found capital to efficiently grow their business.

Prerequisites:
This is an introductory workshop targeting founders and entrepreneurs interested in learning more about the process of raising their first outside round of capital.

What to Bring:
Nothing required.
