Edward Baig Personal Tech Columnist USA TODAY

Edward Baig is the Personal Tech columnist for USA TODAY and co-host of USA TODAY's Talking Tech videos. He is a regular on ABC's TechBytes broadcasts, and makes other TV and radio appearances.
Baig joined USA TODAY's Life section in Oct. 1999 and launched the popular Wednesday column soon after. In the column, Baig reviews the latest gizmos, gadgets and consumer tech trends with insight and humor. Baig and his column moved to Thursday's and the Money section in Dec. 2003. Besides the column, Baig writes tech features ranging from the future of augmented reality to mobile payments.
Prior to joining USA TODAY, Baig worked for Fortune Magazine, from 1978 to 1990, covering leisure industries, among other topics. While there, Baig created Fortune's Products to Watch column and shepherded the America's Most Admired Companies project. He then worked for US News & World Report in Washington DC as an associate editor covering personal technology from 1990 to 1993.
From 1993 to 1999, Baig worked as the Personal Business department editor at Business Week in New York and Washington, DC. As department editor, Baig was responsible for covering personal technology, personal finance, collecting, and careers, and won the 1999 Northwestern's Medill School of Journalism Award for "Best Feature on a Personal Finance Topic."
Baig is the author of "Palm Pre: Missing Manual" and the latest editions of "Macs For Dummies." He is also co-author of "IPad For Dummies" and "iPhone For Dummies."
Baig received a B.A. in political science from York College of the City University of New York and then an MBA from Adelphia University on Long Island.

John has been a founder or early employee of three technology startups, all three of which achieved successful exits and is the COO and co-founder of ShopSavvy. Previously, John Founded BCN which was sold to T-Mobile for $140 million plus in 2001. John was an early employee at wireless startup Omnipoint (now T-Mobile) and WNP Communications (sold to Craig McCaw). John has served in functional areas including business development, strategic marketing, strategic positioning, operations, finance and as a founder.

John also has several years’ experience as a Venture Capitalist for an institutional firm with over $1 billion under management and as an individual investor. John has invested and worked with companies across multiple sectors including wireless, enterprise software, supply chain, communications, energy and e-commerce. John has served on the Boards of eRealty and Factory Logic software as well as several companies across multiple technology sectors.

As a strong believer in the importance of public service, John spent several years in economic policy for the White House and the US ITC. John earned an MBA from Columbia University in New York City. John's B.A. is in international studies and economics

She joined Sears /Kmart in 2009 as the CMO for Toys, Seasonal, and Outdoor Living businesses. At Sears Julia turned around the Outdoor Living business by growing online revenues over 150% through a focused digital campaign, grew the toy business 18% in a flat market, and re-launched Sears Toys Shop as an online experience. Prior to her move to retail Julia was SVP of Marketing and Product Development at VTech Electronic Learning Toys, where she orchestrated a dramatic turnaround growing market share 300% and making Vtech a world-class competitor. Julia successfully integrated US marketing strategies through Vtech’s global network and secured multimillion dollar global licensing agreements. Julia leverages years of insight-driven consumer marketing experience, and a keen understanding of digital tools. She has launched successful web experiences, social media eco systems, social and digital campaigns, mobile campaigns, and on-line communities. Julia has an MBA from Kellogg, is a board member of the Toy Industry Association, and was voted 2008’s Wonder Woman of Toys for her contributions to the toy industry.

Veteran entrepreneur Todd Dipaola co-founded inMarket the leading mobile shopper advertising platform and his second successful digital media company, in 2010.

inMarket and its first launched app, CheckPoints, converges online and offline marketing by introducing the accountability of digital advertising to brands and products available in stores. In 2011, inMarket announced the world’s largest mobile shopper network reaching over 20 million consumers. Under Todd’s leadership inMarket has partnered with brands including Coca-Cola, Procter & Gamble, and Unilever, among others.

Todd previously co-founded and bootstrapped search marketing technology firm Vantage Media at search advertising’s inception. Vantage was ranked #31 on the Inc 500 List and “The Fastest Growing Technology Company in Los Angeles” by Deloitte’s Fast50. In 2007, he successfully exited at a valuation north of $100MM.

Todd’s entrepreneurial experience is rooted in both business and philanthropy. In 2007 he created the Dipaola Foundation, which has been featured in Entrepreneur Magazine, to work on environmental and systemic societal issues. He also on several boards including UC Berkeley’s Goldman School of Public Policy and California Common Cause.

Todd graduated as a Regents Scholar from UC Berkeley in Molecular and Cell Biology with emphasis in Immunology.
