Chris Rudd, founder and CEO of ChiByDesign, will introduce participants to anti-racist design as a necessary approach to creating equitable futures. Different from human-centered design and equity design, anti-racist design focuses on connecting “isolated” events to structures and mindsets that lead to racist outcomes. By identifying the racism embedded in systems and employing multi-level interventions, anti-racist design works to ultimately change the paradigm that creates racist experiences in the first place.
