Clarence Maclin, aka "Divine eye" starred as the co-lead in the feature film SING SING, inspired by Maclin's life story, opposite Colman Domingo and Paul Raci, for writer/director duo Greg Kwedar and Clint Bentley (JOCKEY; TRANSPECOS). The film premiered at the 2023 Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) where it was acquired by A24 in a competitive bidding war. The film will be released in 2024. Robert Daniels (RogerEbert.com) put the film among the best of TIFF 2023, saying "In his debut screen performance, Maclin is everything you want an actor to be: deeply felt, magnetic, emotionally and physically attuned. His star-making performance brandishes a soft touch for deep impact." Clarence is also a strong advocate for higher education and a frequent guest speaker, teaching artist and mentor through the Rehabilitation Through the Arts Program. Clarence works with other community based organizations such as 914 United and Successful Steps, and serves as a National Gang Trainer aiding in the rehabilitation of youth involved in gangs and imparting valuable insights on the dangers of street life to young men.
