Maria Gallucci

Maria Gallucci is a senior reporter at Canary Media, a nonprofit newsroom, where she covers efforts to electrify transportation, decarbonize heavy industries and develop emerging clean energy technologies like offshore wind, advanced geothermal and carbon dioxide removal.

Maria was previously a reporter or contributing writer for outlets including Grist, IEEE Spectrum, InsideClimate News, Yale Environment 360 and newspapers in Mexico City. Her reporting has taken her all across the Americas and inside of cargo ships, power plants, nuclear waste sites—as well as jungles, islands and bayous. She gave a 2021 TED Talk on green shipping fuels and was the 2017-2018 Energy Journalism Fellow at the University of Texas at Austin. She lives in Brooklyn, New York.
