Reporter
The New York Times

Maureen Farrell is a veteran reporter for The New York Times. She has been covering Wall Street for nearly two decades with a focus on private equity firms, hedge funds and billionaires and their influence on the investing world and society at large.

Maureen spent eight years at The Wall Street Journal where she covered some of the largest tech I.P.O.s — Airbnb, Uber, Lyft and the failed public offering of WeWork. Maureen chronicled the rise and fall of WeWork, its founder Adam Neumann and the people and pools of capital that gave rise to the company in a book she coauthored, “The Cult of We.” Before joining The Journal, Maureen worked at Forbes, CNN and Debtwire.

Programming descriptions are generated by participants and do not necessarily reflect the opinions of SXSW.
