Bree Mcewan

Bree McEwan (PhD, Arizona State University) is an Associate Professor at the Institute of Communication, Culture, Information, and Technology at the University of Toronto. She is an Associate Director of the Data Sciences Institute and Director of the McEwan Mediated Communication (McMC) Lab. Research at the McMC focuses on social interaction within virtual environments exploring affordances, communication processes, and media effects. Her work exploring the intersection of technology and interpersonal communication has been published in New Media & Society, Communication Monographs, Computers in Human Behavior, Social Media + Society and other venues. She is the author of Navigating New Media Networks and Interpersonal Encounters.
