Prior to joining NBC, Yurcaba was a freelance writer and editor, covering topics including politics, abortion policy, and science and health. Their work has been published by NBC News, ELLE, Teen Vogue, Marie Claire, Verywell, Woman’s Day, Bustle, and Rewire.News, among others. Yurcaba regularly appears on NBC News Now, NBC’s streaming platform, and on MSNBC. They have also joined PBS NewsHour, NPR's On the Media, NPR's Short Wave and local radio shows to talk about their reporting. They are currently based in Vancouver, Washington, where they spend most of their free time outside with their dog, Luna.
