Rachel Courtland is a senior associate editor at IEEE Spectrum, where she edits expert-authored features and writes about semiconductors, physics, and space. In 2015, she coordinated the magazine’s coverage of the 50th anniversary of Moore’s Law, for which she visited Gordon Moore himself at his home on the Big Island of Hawaii. Before joining IEEE Spectrum, Courtland reported on quantum computing, galactic cannibalism, general relativity, lunar lava tubes, and a number of other topics in physics and astronomy for New Scientist.
