CEO
Uncorked Studios

Marcelino is Founder and CEO of Uncorked Studios, a product design agency focused on the intersection between people and the physical environments in which they use products. He believes in a world where innovation applies to entrepreneurs, non-profits, and the world’s largest brands in equal measure.

Uncorked has partnered with the Bezos Family Foundation, the March of Dimes, and the Magnum Foundation to design and develop social impact products. In addition to social impact work, Uncorked collaborates with some of the world’s top brands, including Google, Intel, and adidas to build smart home, mobile, and other connected products.

In 2011, he co-founded Safecast, an open data initiative to help residents of Japan report and understand the levels of radiation following the Fukushima earthquake and nuclear disaster. He is also the co-founder of Incúbate, the first design thinking workshop between Cuban and American entrepreneurs. Launched in Havana in 2015 as part of a fringe diplomacy mission under the auspices of the Aspen Institute and the Richardson Center for Global Engagement, Incúbate is an innovation program that supports the movement toward connectivity, private business ownership, local and global community, and — perhaps one day — an end to the embargo.

Previously, Marcelino served as Executive Interactive Producer at Wieden + Kennedy. He produced the Nike Chalkbot, a robot which printed messages of hope and inspiration on the Tour de France in 2009 and 2010.

Marcelino attended Duke University, where he earned his Bachelor of Arts in International Relations, minored in Spanish Literature, and received a certificate in Film & Video Production. He is a recipient of the Portland Business Journal’s 2016 Forty under 40 award.
