Reporters’ Perspectives on Marijuana Legalization

Mar 15, 2017

3:30pm – 4:30pm CT

In the 1930s, media coverage related to marijuana was all about reefer madness. By the 1980s and '90s, the conversation had shifted to focus on keeping marijuana away from teenagers. Media coverage was driven by adolescent use rates, whether they were up or down. Today media coverage has evolved and is much different than it was even a decade ago. This panel will discuss the changes in how the media have reported on marijuana over the years through today.
