Getting a Big Sound on a Small Budget

This session requires RSVP, and access will only be available to badge types listed under “Primary Access.”

The sound quality of an independent film is often the first indication of how enjoyable the film will be. A polished and clear audio track adds depth and allows the audience to get lost in the material and react to the story. This panel will provide filmmakers with tips, tricks, and tools from industry experts in production sound mixing, ADR, and audio post. We will discuss where filmmakers can allocate resources to maximize their production and post production sound budgets. The panel will use real examples from the audience and our own experience to examine the common pitfalls that independent productions fall into and provide solutions and workarounds for those problems.

Programming descriptions are generated by participants and do not necessarily reflect the opinions of SXSW.
