Sequence Me: A Tragically-Uncommon Cancer Battle

Mar 11, 2017

3:30pm – 4:30pm CT

When faced with their own mortality, people realize they want to leave the world a better place. That’s what happened in 2014 when Bryce Olson, an Intel employee, was diagnosed with stage IV metastatic prostate cancer. Based on his prognosis, he should not be alive today. But he fought cancer differently. After insisting on DNA sequencing, he used data to find and break into a perfect-fit drug trial that shut down his cancer. Using precision medicine to treat cancer has profound implications for the future of healthcare and for thousands of individuals. Bryce wants to inform and inspire others about the importance of precision medicine and the essential role technology can have.
