For her first new single since 2014, superstar Beyoncé spearheaded her return to music with the Melina Matsoukas-directed “Formation,” which dropped one day before her much-anticipated Super Bowl 50 Halftime show. The music video’s black power message and Katrina-inspired visuals reach above and beyond mainstream culture, focusing on a more active message surrounding race and identity. It dives deep into important issues that the black community currently faces, from police brutality, to unrealistic standards of beauty, to political and societal unbalance.

Pedro Martin-Calero has created this video for Barcelona garage band Hinds' track Garden, and it's a graphic feast for the eyes. The video sees a collection of painterly images and flirtatious scenes superimposed together, employing a circular stylistic device allowing for a nifty interplay between background and foreground imagery.

Genre-blending Texas funk Trio Khruangbin new video for ‘Two Fish and an Elephant’. Wieden+Kennedy London employee plays bass in the band, and Scott Dungate, a Khruangbin fan and also her former boss, is making his directorial debut.

"Being" is about a lonely woman finding love with the unlikeliest of creatures at speed dating. The odd couple embark on a whirlwind romance, with devastating consequences.

The video uses the Shakespearean tragedy "Rome and Juliet" as a frame for contemporary issues such as the refugee crisis, homophobia, and racism. The clip is set in rural Germany and stars Blanco and Tobias Kagelind as secret lovers. The video jumps between scenes of their courtship, adult rendezvous and the forces keeping them apart. Kagelind's character comes from a group of skinheads and in one brutal scene they attack a Mercutio-esque friend of Blanco's character sparking a spiral of violence ending in tragedy.

The film follows the journey of a female astronaut as she discovers new terrain whilst navigating the painful backdrop of her past. We see her replaying moments over and trying to process the absence of an important person in her life. The character is constantly being reminded of her past, painful memories buried in the landscape of Outer space.

When he can't get a plate of his own, his multiple personalities come out as he fights with himself over the chicken. We soon realize he's at the restaurant on a date... but he can't quite become himself to sit down to dinner with her.

It features a bunch of colorful characters skating, dancing, and singing in New York’s subway system. 

In the animated music video for Yeasayer's "I Am Chemistry," a cosmonaut's spacecraft crash lands on Planet X, sending her on a shape-shifting journey through an alien landscape where she meets dancing musicians, a children’s choir, and an even stranger end.
