Barry J. Hurewitz is a partner in the Washington, DC office of Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr LLP, a law firm known as WilmerHale. Barry has a multidisciplinary regulatory and transactional practice focusing on innovative technology and life sciences clients.

In the firm’s Cybersecurity and Privacy practice, Barry counsels clients on privacy and data security regulation. He handles matters involving consumer and health data safeguards, identity theft prevention, cross-border data transfers, and data security breach response. Barry advises clients on the regulation of sensitive technical data, including security clearances and disclosures of technology to non-U.S. persons.

In the firm’s National Security and Government Contract practice, Barry advises clients that sell products and services to government agencies, encompassing contract negotiation, bid protests, government intellectual property rights, claims and disputes, subcontracts, audits, and enforcement proceedings. His experience includes foreign participation limitations, small business eligibility, most-favored pricing requirements, and foreign acquisitions of U.S. businesses.

Barry provides advice on export control and economic sanctions compliance, licensing, and enforcement , including defense articles and services, information security and encryption technologies.

Barry joined WilmerHale in 1994 after earning his B.A. in economics and computer science from Duke University and his J.D. from Georgetown University.

Daniel Glazer leads Fried Frank's Tech Group and is resident in the firm’s London and New York offices.

Dan focuses on technology transactions, including complex licensing, outsourcing, and services arrangements. He also advises UK, Irish and other non-US companies on US expansion and US fundraising.
