I am committed to empowerment through education, technology and startups in Austin and worldwide. From Texas to Oman to Malaysia and beyond—from local politics to international collaboration—effective, efficient logistics, coordinated with passion and a smile, are my lifeblood. I am passionate about developing pipelines of talent in community building, design, and innovation. I've spent the last decade developing my expansive skill set by teaching, sharing, and empowering our world with technology both locally and internationally. For example, I re-imagine volunteerism by teaching computer literacy in Austin, Texas with a campaign called Code Orange. If you are a WordPress, front end, or back end developer—why not use your unique talents to transfer know-how to others through technology-based volunteerism? Through this brand of 21st century activism, I spearheaded the creation of a dumb phone hack-a-thon for the African continent. I am incredibly proud of this event because I brought together talented developers from Houston, Austin, and Madison to code with us, and we now have a portfolio of 6 mobile apps, including our successful Ebola Survey App, used to combat the virus in West Africa.
