David Modigliani is a filmmaker, entrepreneur and creative strategist with 10+ years of experience delivering social impact by reaching broad audiences through meaningful stories.
He produced and co-directed WOUNDED: THE BATTLE BACK HOME for MSNBC, a 12-part documentary series on young combat veterans which aired monthly before he negotiated its acquisition by NETFLIX in 2015. 61 BULLETS, his most recent film, won the special jury prize at the New Orleans Film Festival and is slated for a potential PBS broadcast. He has appeared on CNN and in the Wall St. Journal to discuss his work - and spoken at SXSW, the Cause Marketing Forum and the PBS annual meeting.
His first feature documentary, CRAWFORD, premiered at SXSW and played at 33 festivals around the world before making history as Hulu’s first film premiere. Variety called the film "poignant," Premiere called "richly compelling" and the NY Sun called "revelatory." Modigliani also Co-Produced TRUST US, THIS IS ALL MADE UP with filmmaker and actor Alex Karpovsky (GIRLS) which the New York Times called "as entertaining as it is astonishing."
Alongside feature film, work Modigliani co-founded real stories content agency, Flow Nonfiction in 2010, where he developed brand-building campaigns through stories of social good with partners like the Clinton Global Initiative, Skype, Ford, and Procter & Gamble, among many others. He Co-Created The Small Business Revolution, a project for Deluxe to tell the stories of 100 small business across America with award-winning filmmakers and National Geographic photographers with a special focus on Instagram.
As Director of Content at Austin-based startup, Able, he conceptualized, produced and delivered the Able message across paid, owned and earned channels, activating the Able network through premium content.
He holds a BA from Harvard University and an MFA from UT Austin.
