Michelle Ferrier is the founder of Troll-Busters.com, a just-in-time rescue service for women journalists who are targets of online harassment. Using positive messaging and coaching services, Ferrier helps targets recover from troll attacks. Ferrier experienced harassment as a former columnist with a Florida newspaper and as a developer of online communities for commercial and nonprofit organizations. She is the associate dean for innovation at the Scripps College of Communication at Ohio University where she manages the innovation and media entrepreneurship agenda across the college. She is the president of Journalism That Matters, a nonprofit organization that hosts breakthrough conversations on the emerging media landscape. She holds a Ph.D. in Texts and Technology from the University of Central Florida, a master’s in journalism from the University of Memphis with research interests in digital identity and reputation management, online communities, hyperlocal online news and media entrepreneurship.

Steven M. Freeman was appointed the Anti-Defamation League's Deputy Director for Policy and Programs in March 2016. He previously served as director of the ADL Legal Affairs Department. In that capacity, he was responsible for overseeing the agency's legal work in a wide range of areas, including free speech and hate speech, bias crimes, cyberhate and cyberbullying. In his tenure at ADL, Mr. Freeman has coordinated the preparation of numerous publications, including over 300 amicus curiae briefs submitted to the U.S. Supreme Court and federal appellate courts around the country. Since 2013, Mr. Freeman has led the agency's cyberhate response effort, working with major Internet companies to develop strategies to counter hate online.

Mr. Freeman is a graduate of Yale University and Stanford Law School, and a member of the State Bar of New York and the Bar of the United States Supreme Court.
