Publicity, and marketing can make or break a film. Come get some hands on information about the modern role of PR, and how marketing impacts filmmakers and their films today.
This Mentor Session requires advance online sign up and is available to all Film, Gold, and Platinum badgeholders on a first-come, first-served basis. Online sign ups will open in February.
Registrants who sign up online must check-in 30 minutes before their mentor time slot to guarantee their spot. Limited on-site sign up is also available for a small number of Mentor Sessions spots and will begin 30 minutes before the first time slot of each session.

Ngoc Nguyen is an entertainment professional with 15 years of experience in the industry highlighted by a special focus on film publicity and celebrity relations. A Texas native, she started her career as an intern at the Texas Film Commission, followed by jobs at SXSW and Austin Film Festival.
In 2001, Ngoc moved to Los Angeles to work at Miramax Films. While at Miramax, Ngoc split her time between Los Angeles where she worked on PR Academy Award-winning campaigns for films such as CHICAGO, AMELIE and GANGS OF NEW YORK and Austin where she worked closely with Robert Rodriguez on set for the production of ONCE UPON A TIME IN MEXICO and the SPY KIDS franchise.
After Miramax, Ngoc joined talent powerhouse Creative Artists Agency in Corporate Communications. Managing private events for personalities such as then Senator Barack Obama, former Vice President Al Gore and Bono were the focus during her three years at CAA.
Ngoc then spent six years as a publicist at Paramount Pictures where she led campaigns for films such as THE FIGHTER, STAR TREK, MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE–GHOST PROTOCOL, SHUTTER ISLAND, SUPER 8 and RANGO working closely with directors and talent.
Following Paramount, Ngoc began consulting for a variety of clients including: Google, Bad Robot (JJ Abrams’ Foundation), Communities in Schools of LA and CBS Sports / US Open and private CEO network, PTTOW!. Ngoc also consults for “Taste of Tennis” in NYC & Australia, ATX TV Festival and TEDxAustinWomen where she spearheaded the PR campaign to make it the #1 TEDWomen event of 2013. In 2014, Ngoc produced the multiple award-winning “A Brave Heart: The Lizzie Velasquez Story."
Currently, Ngoc is working on "Moon Shot," the Google / Bad Robot / Epic Digital / XPRIZE web series, which premieres at SXSW on 3/14. The doc series was filmed by Academy Award-nominated director Orlando Von Einsiedel and executive produced by J.J. Abrams.Hide the rest
