Crowdbuilding: Building Hardware Here and There
With luck and perseverance, hardware start-ups will eventually face the challenge of building their product to scale. While manufacturing in Asia is often the de facto choice, it is not always the best option. Many factors should be considered, including travel time and access to the factory, customs and shipping logistics, parts sourcing and counterfeit components, communication barriers, quality assurance, and governmental regulations. This session will explore the pros and cons of both US and offshore manufacturing resources.
