Part screening, part lecture and part hands-on training, you'll review top case studies, create a more inspiring nonfiction narrative for your cause, and learn to how to gather the right data to build urgency, convey impact and motivate wider engagement.

Marcia Stepanek is a journalist, videographer, digital media strategist, and author of the forthcoming book, "Swarms: The Rise of the Digital Anti-Establishment." Her work has appeared in The New York Times, the Huffington Post, Contribute, Salon, msnbc.com, and the Stanford Social Innovation Review. A former Knight Fellow in New Media at Stanford and Technology Strategies Editor at BusinessWeek, Marcia teaches digital/visual media strategy and cause video in the graduate nonprofit management program at Columbia University in New York City and curates an annual conference on disruptive innovation in the sector. She blogs regularly about new media at CauseGlobal and Videocracy (both relaunching July 1 as expanded news sites) and hosts a new podcast, Visualizing Change, for the Chronicle of Philanthropy that profiles visual media pioneers working in the social commons. Marcia has worked at the intersection of digital media technology and social change for nearly two decades and lectures internationally on the influence of the Internet on social systems.
