The Moral Compass of Future Play
The rise of new media and smart technology—including increasingly sophisticated mobile devices and a multitude of connected toys—has contributed a seemingly endless array of opportunities to spark the imagination. With these new possibilities, however, comes a set of complex questions and challenges: how best to foster media literacy, for example, or how to balance the magic of personalized play experiences with protection of privacy. This session brings together leaders in media, entertainment, and play to discuss the potential of new technologies in storytelling, the relationship between digital and physical play, and the ethics involved in designing experiences for children.
