Augmented reality is no longer the stuff of movies. New Augmented Reality headset, equipped with the ability to overlay dynamic, interactive displays on our very REAL worlds will revolutionize UX and deliver a hands-free future. However, augmented reality is an industry in its infancy. Developing and designing the 3D, holographic interfaces and displays of the future is a maturing science, tied our human, biological wiring. Join pioneers Meron Gribetz, CEO and inventor of Meta and Jayse Hansen, the designer responsible for bringing us the Iron Man interface, in a riveting discussion about designing these next-generation interfaces. Part of the IEEE Tech for Humanity Series.

Jayse Hansen has created some of the most iconic fictional user interfaces in film history. In Star Wars, Han Solo and Princess Leia discuss strategy using large holograms of the Death Star and Star Killer Base; BB8 and R2D2 coordinate their holographic maps to find Luke Skywalker. In Iron Man and The Avengers, Tony Stark puts his helmet on and hundreds of relevant holographic data animate to life: maps locating nearby enemies, flight controls, and suit diagnostics. In The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Katniss leads an invasion with a handheld hologram device and Beetee sits before a multi-panel computer display in order to hack into the Capitol. These types of Holographs and advanced UI designs all help to tell the stories in todays's biggest feature films.
Jayse also consults and designs for various real-world software companies, such as Meta, the leaders in immersive AR, as well as government agencies such as the US Department of Defense and Army Research Laboratories on strategies to use his 'outside-the-limits' design thinking to dramatically increase efficiency for dealing with immense amounts of time-sensitive, mission critical information.
He has spoken about his design work all over the world. More of his film design can be seen at www.jayse.tvHide the rest
