Impact of MedTech in a Super-Aging Society
Healthy longevity in Japan has been made possible by the various R&D conducted at universities. Japan, who faces a “super-aging society," has been on the cutting edge of MedTech such as iPS cell-based regenerative medicine, bio devices, virtual reality, motion sensing and human augmentation. Japan puts MedTech as a core of its growth strategy, and accelerates technology commercialization. In addition, such MedTech is fully utilized to revitalize the regional economy, and newly developing healthcare IT and IoT solve the problems of healthcare disparity in the region. Together with Austin, we will to discuss the impact of MedTech on the regional innovation infrastructure & eco-system.
