Let's Interface: Connecting Social Research to UXD
As technology is increasingly involved in social processes, the field of communication research offers great insight into the success or failure of innovations. Unfortunately, the highly segmented nature of academia can prevent fruitful interactions between people who create technologies and communication scholars who study processes that affect technology use. Researchers immersed in the communication technology field will present research concepts about relationships, privacy, identity, cognition, and presence that are important for the tech sector and stimulate discussion between makers, users, and scholars about how research findings can help develop, refine, and promote, and new ideas.
