Citizen Science: Sensors and the Environment
Our panel will discuss the pitfalls and opportunities with using sensors for the global good. Particularly, we will be exploring how electronic open-source sensors can provide a different viewpoint on citizen science, environmental monitoring and how we live in the spaces we work and play in everyday. This panel will also discuss to what extent open-source sensors might or might not fit into the “smart city” discourse. This panel of scientists, journalists, researchers and educators highlights different ways that sensors are being used around the globe to tackle important environmental issues.
