Ben Wallfisch counsels life sciences companies and healthcare providers in connection with enforcement and regulatory matters, including conducting internal investigations and defending clients targeted by government investigations. Ben has represented numerous medical product companies, hospitals, and health systems relating to enforcement of federal and state fraud and abuse laws, including the Anti-Kickback Statute, the Stark Law, and state and federal false claims acts. In addition, Ben has assisted clients with voluntary disclosures of regulatory violations to appropriate government authorities. Ben also has significant experience advising clients on structuring and assessing corporate compliance programs.

James joined Santé Ventures in 2010. He focuses on medical device and health IT investing with particular focus on early stage technologies. He is on the boards of multiple companies including TVA Medical, Guided Interventions, Millipdede, and Claret Medical. Previously, James served in the Air Force and was the medical director and Vice-Chair of Emergency Medicine at Wilford Hall Medical Center, an academic level-one trauma center in San Antonio. He completed two tours in Iraq as a critical care transport team chief and as the emergency department commander. He separated honorably as a Major in 2008. James received his MBA from the University of Texas McCombs School Of Business, his MD from the joint Harvard Medical School and MIT HST program, and a BS in bioengineering, from the University of Michigan. He is board certified in emergency medicine and completed his residency at Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham and Women’s Hospital.
