Why Diversity Can't Be Built in a Day
This session will explore the real challenges of introducing diversity into growing organizations and building a diversity program from scratch. We’ll dissect three significant barriers to successful diversity and inclusion efforts (misconceptions around “lowering the bar,” the importance of defining “diversity,” and challenges that arise as a result of misaligned incentives) and present strategies to combat these barriers. We’ll get real about the long-term investment and commitment required to build a diverse organization and, drawing on our experience as leaders of diversity initiatives, provide actionable information on what works.
