Kari Faux’s multi faceted array of sounds has been both hailed and hated on. She's hard to pin down - each song is consistently unique - with the rapper drawing comparisons to everyone from Andre 3000 to Missy Elliot. Kari's random interests fuel her work in music, painting, photography and performance art. To say the least, her type of "unique" was by no means the norm for a young emcee from a gritty area of Little Rock Arkansas.
Her southern, small town offered limited resources and expectations about how hip hop should sound. Luckily, her escapism came courtesy of the internet where she quickly became plugged into other worlds, and decades - hence the 70’s inspired chill one moment, and trap rap the next. It may be schizophrenic, but it's deliberate and honest.
With a Millennial's open mind, she engages a diverse audience who loves music for what it does, not what genre it fits into.


That's likely why Kari jumped off the (computer) screen and caught the attention of actor/writer/ musician Donald Glover (known musically as Childish Gambino). The Grammy nominated artist
and his team were immediately on a plane to Little Rock.
Kari was impressed, not by who Gambino was, but by what he and his team represented. A lauded mixtape, contained the rugged "No Small Talk," and the smoothed out stand alone "Supplier." Coming out in early Spring will spring will be her first project with team, entitled “Lost en Los Angeles”.
