Every day the sharing economy brings new technology-enabled business models to market. This can have dramatic social, economic and financial consequences. Speakers will give a practical introduction to the sharing economy and highlight key legal and policy considerations using actual case studies. We will discuss consumer protection, labor and employment law, privacy and data security, antitrust and competition policy, and industry-specific licensure and related considerations. Attendees will gain a broad understanding of the legal and policy landscape confronting these new business models and important considerations for leveraging big data, the sharing economy, and the Internet of Things.
