Music in Trailers: How Music Drives Film Marketing
Music does lots of heavy lifting in trailers. Whether it’s fuzzed-out bass, pulsing while the villain slow walks toward the camera, or a familiar pop song with happy lyrics to engage kids and parents alike, it’s the music that stirs the emotions of the audience, whipping them into a ticket-buying frenzy.
What is it about certain songs that make them work in Film marketing? From finding the perfect needle in a hay stack, to creating a new composition from blank slate, how does music make it to the finish line? Why do they use so many covers?
The panel will help shed some light on the magic ingredients that music supervisors are listening for, and which composers strive to create.
