Born into a family that loves music, it's no wonder that Mz Rico has had an ear for music since an early age. Latin influences from her Colombian upbringing combined with 80's and 90's Hip Hop and her discovery of early 90's House music in grade school which developed into a love for all things EDM have all helped shape her unique sound into what it is today.

Her first experience DJing came via tailgates and campus parties at the Univerity of Houston. She used this experience to begin a professional career a few years later. She has entertained crowds at venues ranging from bars and night clubs off Washington and in Midtown to larger spaces such as Fitzgerald's and Warehouse Live to a few indoor expos and outdoor festivals. 2014 saw her take her talents out of town for the first time, hitting the stage at SXSW in Austin as well as a few other Texas cities. Her ever developing production skills combined with her continued dedication to turntablism provide a nice fusion that shows in her tracks and mixes.
