The whole makes for a vibrant concoction that holds out promise for the future of this articulate artist. 30-something-year-old Telmary is an intriguing mixture of hip-hop and modernized forms of Afro-Cuban music. And that’s just for starters. The poetess from Havana appears equally at ease in genres as disparate as Hispanic Rock, Jazz, Timba, Guaracha and Flamenco. Telmary was born in Havana, Cuba. She is a singular rapper, composer, singer and poet. She started with the band Free Hole Negro in 1999, and in 2002 she joined to Roberto Carcasses project Interactivo (Interactive), a band with a diverse sound that transforms from a jazz trio to an orchestra. With grace and virtuosity they travel through funky, jazz, hip-hop and more, maintaining their Cuban flavor through out.
Telmary has collaborated with many artists, including Pío Leyva (Buenavista Social Club),Gema y Pavel, Isaac Delgado, Gerardo Alfonso, Lucia Huergo, X ...
