Money Talks
Money. In today's society it talks louder than ever. It lies at the center of our job choices, our marriages, our schools, and even our health. Nonetheless, it holds the distinct honor of being one of the last remaining taboo subjects in our culture. Often people refrain from financial discussions out of fear, shame, or lack of knowledge. Perhaps they feel they should be able to navigate the alphabet soup of 401(k)s and IRAs or perhaps they want to avoid their own economic reality. Regardless of the reason, it’s time to start talking. We need to take a hard look at how money is shaping or distorting our lives. It’s okay to admit that we don’t know everything and it’s okay if we don’t have all the answers. Starting the conversation is key.
Join Mellody Hobson for a frank discussion on finances and the importance of breaking the silence surrounding money.
