Creator Activism: A Discussion with Robert Kirkman
On Halloween 2010, Robert Kirkman’s long-running graphic novel, The Walking Dead, premiered on AMC. Almost five years later and it is the number one show on cable television with no signs of slowing down. On the heels of the premiere Robert saw an opportunity to create a company that would offer creators the opportunity to retain ownership and overall creative control of their IPs. Along with his longtime manager and fellow Walking Dead executive producer, David Alpert, Robert opened the doors to Skybound Entertainment.
