Society can be a tough judge and when we get an idea in our heads that something is “bad,” it is hard to change that perception. But what if vices which society frowns upon are actually good for your health? This expert duo will take you on a journey exploring the scientific promise of a particularly relevant and controversial example: video games for healthcare and education. There are multiple existing preconceptions about video games, but some of the newest cutting edge research indicates that if the right science is applied to game development, sensitive neural assessments and robust improvements in brain function can become a reality. We’ll specifically discuss how this technology usage may also have the potential to be therapeutic in various settings, and highlight examples of new-age gaming products being integrated into healthcare and the educational system.
