VCs Investing in Retail Innovation: Why? Where?
Americans spend over $4 trillion each year at retail, but the way we select and purchase goods and services is changing rapidly. Two thirds of the U.S. mobile subscribers use smartphones and, according to a recent Deloitte study, 36% of all in-store purchases (roughly $1.1 billion) were influenced by digital interactions in 2013.
Mobile shopping, e-commerce, tablets, beacons, social shopping, marketplaces, digital advertising, analytics, mobile wallets – these are just a few of the exciting innovations that are transforming retail. Imagine a future where every dollar spent on advertising and marketing impressions can be traced to an outcome in the physical world. How will we get there? How long will that take? What will this mean for traditional media and the "art of marketing"? Who will win and who will lose?
Join retail industry experts (strategic and financial VC investors) for a panel discussion on the future of retail and the innovations that will enable it.
