Is EU Privacy Legislation Killing Data Science?
This session will begin by explaining the upcoming changes in European privacy legislation. These changes will affect any European-based company dealing with data, as well as those companies outside Europe who monitor or target EU consumers. We will specifically consider some key threats posed by the changes to the established data science business sector. We will then show how data scientists who plan for change can leverage commercial advantage in a world where European regulators are putting consumer data rights at the forefront of their agenda and savvy consumers are putting pressure on the data value exchange.
