Design Sprints at Google: UX Methods and Mindset
Design matters. Speed matters. Can you have both? At Google, one of our most important tools is the design sprint. A design sprint compresses the typical product design cycle to a week or less. It brings the entire team to create a quantum leap in envisioning a new product or service. To date, we have ran 100+ sprints at Google on projects as diverse as Google Glass, Project Loon, Self-Driving cars, Ads and even our internal tools.
In this talk, Nadya Direkova and Marta Rey-Babarro, a designer and a researcher will join forces to help you run an effective sprint for your own team. The talk will include:
- Key UX methods for enabling sprints.
- How to lead teams in sprints: the art of the Sprint Masters.
- Structure and types of design sprints.
- Case studies from Self Driving cars, Project Loon, Ads and internal tools.
