Echo is an indie rock band formed in Taiwan in 2002. Their uniquely mixing of modern Chinese poetic lyrics and Neo-Psychedelia Rock style music let them soon became popular in the indie music community.

After one year of live performing, Echo were signed to Crystal Records, and released their debut album 'Sensual Drive' in 2002. It earned recommendations by tens of musicians and media, and achieved a rarely success in Taiwan indie music industry. At the same year, the band won the Chinese Pop Music Media Awards for "Best New Band" in China.

Followed by the 24-songs second album 'Bastille Day' and the 100-gigs 'Everywhere Echo' tour in 2007, Echo achieved huge critical and commercial success and became one of the most popular bands in Taiwan. In 2011, the band is nominated by Taiwan's Golden Melody Awards as Band of the Year with their third LP "Virgin Air". During this period, Echo established itself as the most important rock band of the Millennium generation in Taiwan.

From 2011 - 2013, they have played in many worldwide festivals, including SXSW, CMJ music marathon, and Liverpool Sound City. In 2013, the band's comeback single “Shi-mao”, theme song of the movie Tiny Times, was hit in China in the summer with 6 millions play counts on QQMusic, and 1 million music video view counts. The media call it “the divine song of the new era”, and name Echo the representative of Taiwanese "Sao" Youth Culture.

Echo's fourth LP "To The Purity Of Life" is just released in April, 2014, and the band is touring for the new album now.
