How Visuals & Tech are Changing the Live Electronic Music Experience

Wednesday, March 18
2:00PM - 3:00PM

Austin Convention Center
Room 17B
Austin Convention Center

"Visuals dictate the music I play“ - Anonymously stated by one of the biggest stars in EDM, this statement encapsulates the current state of electronic live performance. In the US, electronic music festivals are at an all-time high with just shy of 1m tickets sold to EDM-only festivals in 2014. The performance of electronic music is no longer just about a DJ mixing two tracks. It’s about a shared experience, the combined consumption of realtime audio and video - giant screens, giant drops, a giant miracle touching all senses. Music tech companies, festival organizers and artists discuss what comes first in the conception of live shows, music or visuals, and in which direction things are heading in the future.
