At CMU's core is the adoption of Integrated Intelligence – seamless interfaces with human AI. CMU features four startups actively integrating technology and the arts to improve people’s lives. YinzCam-Priya Narasimhan: developed by fans for fans, currently deployed for sports teams & venues worldwide. AirViz-Illah Nourbakhsh: an air quality sensor empowering communities to take ownership of indoor air quality. Using a visualization system, explore air quality and the social connections to make/share changes in habits to improve the air. Modular Robotic Actuators, Matt Tesch: building on CMU Biorobotics Lab’s modular snake robots’ success, an easy-to-use modular system to lower the barrier to entry and speed robotics R&D in academia and industry. Neon Lab-Sophie Lebrecht: a fully-automated image optimization platform to monetize digital content. Recipients of The Edison Award for Innovation and funding from NSF, featured by The White House, Dow Jones, The Wall Street Journal and Forbes.
